rome.

twin and i were elated to spend a few hours with our parents in rome, a couple weeks back. in all the excitement from seeing them for the first time in over four months, i didn't pay much attention to my camera. let's just say i cared more about constant hugs (like the one twin is sharing with dad, below) than trying to capture every moment.
twin was pretty adamant about sending her boyfriend postcards from different destinations, so you could imagine her excitement when she had the opportunity to send him one from the smallest country in the world.
 dear ben...
the vatican has its own little post office, which added to her delight.
the famous 'fontana di trevi.' it is believed that a wish made with a coin thrown
in this fountain will come true. (or maybe it just worked for lizzie mcguire)
my dad shared with me a little story about michelangelo's 'Pietà' that gave me chills. in the 1960's, this 15th century renaissance sculpture made its way to new york's world's fair. my dad had made a special trip from rhode island with his mother, just so she could see it. and here i was,
thousands of miles away from home, seeing it with my own parent.
